چکیده
Adipokines are a large group of polypeptide hormones secreted by white adipose tissue able to interact through different receptors with several organs, including liver, central nervous system and gonads. In this review, we will focus on the adipokines that mediate their effects G protein-coupled receptors, namely apelin chemerin. Firstly, review structure (APJ for apelin, CMKLR1, GPR1 CCRL2 chemerin), as well distribution molecular mechanisms. second part more in detail known metabolic reproductive these both physiological pathological conditions, underlining relevant potential clinical implications.

When 7 transmembrane receptors are not G protein-coupled receptors.
Classically, 7 transmembrane receptors transduce extracellular signals by coupling to heterotrimeric G proteins, although recent in vitro studies have clearly demonstrated that they can also signal via G protein-independent mechanisms. However, the physiologic consequences of this unconventional signaling, particularly in vivo, have not been explored. In this issue of the JCI, Zhai et al. demon...
متن کاملG-protein-coupled receptors function as oligomers in vivo
Hormones, sensory stimuli, neurotransmitters and chemokines signal by activating G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) [1]. Although GPCRs are thought to function as monomers, they can form SDS-resistant dimers, and coexpression of two non-functional or related GPCRs can result in rescue of activity or modification of function [2-10]. Furthermore, dimerization of peptides corresponding to the thi...
متن کاملG Protein-coupled receptors
G protein-coupled receptors and heterotrimeric G proteins can diffuse laterally in the plasma membrane such that one receptor can catalyze the activation (GDP/GTP exchange) of multiple G proteins. In some cases, these processes are fast enough to support molecular signal amplification, where a single receptor maintains the activation of multiple G proteins at steady-state. Amplification in cell...

G-Protein-coupled receptors mediate many of the hypnotic and analgesic actions of the drugs employed in anesthesia. Notably, opioid agonists represent the most successful and efficacious class of analgesic agents employed over the last century. Also, major clinical advances have been made by the study of alpha(2) adrenoceptor agonists, which possess both hypnotic and analgesic qualities that ar...
متن کاملG-protein-coupled receptors as signaling targets for antiplatelet therapy.
Platelet G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) initiate and reinforce platelet activation and thrombus formation. The clinical utility of antagonists of the P2Y(12) receptor for ADP suggests that other GPCRs and their intracellular signaling pathways may represent viable targets for novel antiplatelet agents. For example, thrombin stimulation of platelets is mediated by 2 protease-activated recep...
